Mandatory for importers/exporters, big manufacturers, food chains, ecommerce food sellers, central agencies.
Form Used: Form B.
Fee: Typically ~₹7,500 per year.
Validity: Up to 5 years, renewable.

Every Food Business Operator (FBO) involved in manufacturing, processing, storage, distribution, or sale of food must obtain FSSAI Registration or License under the FSS Act, 2006.
If annual turnover is up to ₹12 lakh, Basic Registration is required.
